These large woods covering 552 ha are what is left of the Charcoal forest that covered the area during the last ice age.
The oldest reference to these woods dates back to the year 686.
The many bluebells blooming from mid-April through to early May create a blue flower carpet.
The woods are home to a wide variety of trees and wild animals.
From mid-April, the Hallerbos will be transformed into a fairytale forest. This may entail extra crowds. Keep it safe and follow the directions given. Put on your face mask where necessary and always stay on the trails.
