Het Vinne, Zoutleeuw

The biggest natural inland sea in Flanders

Natural history has been rewritten in “Het Vinne” region. What was once a dull poplar forest has been transformed into the biggest natural inland sea in Flanders. The area has been restored to the natural state it would have once been in many decades ago. This is a lovely place for a tranquil walk, while birdwatchers will discover a host of birds, some rare. Children can head off to the children’s farm and have the time of their lives in the huge playground. This provincial area is proof that relaxation does not have to be the exclusive realm of mass-tourism and mega-attractions. Feel like discovering the surrounding area? You can rent a bike here or head off on any number of walks.
